After suffering a tragic loss, Amir “Ace” Johnson gave up his stronghold of the streets and put his guns away. Out of nowhere, he meets hardworking attorney Aaliyah Bailey who has him feeling a way he never thought he would ever feel again.
Ace gets forced back into the game when he starts receiving notes and pictures that convince him that the original love of his life could still be alive. What is Aaliyah to do now that he might find his love and put his life back together without her?
Is Aaliyah ready to ride or die for her man? Or will it all be for nothing?

Reading this book was a journey, but not one that I would recommend to others. I'm curious as to why it was rated so highly in the first place, but I'm not going to focus on that. I will, however, focus on the content of the writing. When I initially started reading this, I was amused, though not for the correct reasons. Almost every page contains at least three grammatical and punctuational errors. Note the usage of "and" as opposed to "or." It needed several more passes through editing before it was ever published for sale. I should also mention that there are copyrighted lyrics in this book, so I'm actually surprised it's still on Amazon at all.
The book is full of black characters but 98% of them come off as flat and as if they have little to separate their personalities beyond what the plot dictates. Everyone speaks the same way, despite their jobs, backgrounds, positions, etc., almost every character drops the n-bomb for little to no reason as if every black person speaks that way or uses it to the same frequency, and only two characters seem to have any flesh to their bones, so to speak.
The plot, especially at the end, became more and more unreasonable and illogical. It felt as if the story was rushing to conclude while also padding it out for future stories without finishing what was already started. The amount of new situations added in the final five or so chapters when the book still had dangling plots and characters that hadn't been seen in ages was alarming.
Overall, this book came across as if it were written by a novice that hadn't developed the necessary skills to fully develop a book correctly yet, but the effort was appreciated. I don't want to say it was all bad. I did enjoy parts of it, but the need for polish weighed it down. No matter what type of writer you are, the editing process should always be respected to put forth your best effort.

Thug Luv edition by Jazmyne Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
There were too many grammatical errors in this first book and I'm not sure I'll even bother reading the next book. The characters were developed well and I kind of figured out the ending midway through the book. Three books is too drawn out for this storyline.
OMG! This book had me on an emotional rollercoster! Ace captured my heart from the first page. Read this book and ride with Ace as he struggles with doing what he needs to do to find his wife and being in love with a new lady (Aaliyah). I picked this book up and refused to put it down until I was finished. It was a great read and I can't wait until part 2 drops. I knew Jazmyne wouldn't let us down.
This was my first read by this author. First let me start off by saying "WHOM" does NOT have to be used ALL THE DAMN TIME. There is a place for it and it was over used in this book when referring to WHO. Second, the incomplete sentences had me lost. If he was watching from the grave site, what was he watching ? Because the way it was written there should have been more ! It seemed rushed to me and the drama was just pointless. No goon on the face of this planet would send a note to the person they are about to shoot, at least make it some what believable. One minute he don't want a relationship, and then the next they're out to eat and getting shot at, SERIOUSLY ? The book was all over the place. He explains to his friend the pointless drama and throws in he's in love. The friends responds was centered around the love o_O which wasn't even the reason for the visit. I'm not sure where this book was trying to go with all the "GAMES" these unknown people in this book are playing. There is no explanation as to why he is being followed, the note, or the pictures. It's just written in there probably being reveled towards the end, but I couldn't continue after the note while they were eating. The way my circle of friends are set up I will not be recommending this book to them, but I won't discourage those WHO might enjoy this type of read.
From the moment I started reading Thug Luv I was hooked...walking around with my everywhere b/c I didn't want to stop reading. This book made me feel as if I were a character of this very well weaved tale of love, lies, difficult and lots of action. I swear every book that I read stamped with 'David Weaver presents', takes me on a roller coaster ride of emotions that range from happy, sad, nervous, angry, crunk, etc. And Thug Luv was no different.
The book flows so smooth that you forget you're reading a book and think you're watching television. The author paints each character vividly and its like you're looking through their soul. Amir was all about keeping his loved ones safe and doing whatever necessary to ensure that.
This book had so many twisted and turns and it was impossible to see them coming. I was literally on the edge of my seat and heart beating like crazy...still is. Just when you thought you had something figured out, the complete opposite happened. This book was an excellent balance of romance, street life, urban life and lessons in loyalty.
There's really nothing bad to say about the book...my only wish is that it doesn't take forever for part 2 to come out. I HAVE to know what happens to each character in this book.
I never give the story away, BUT I can heavily recommend this book. You will NOT be disappointed. Great job writing this book because it was definitely a Banger!!!
