The Witch and Other Stories edition by Anton Chekhov Literature Fiction eBooks

Chekhov is what you might call a serious Russian writer. A bit like Charles Dickens, but without the clever humour. His stories are often about social problems, injustice and reflections on life itself. Some of his plots tend to ramble a bit, but generally his stories will hold your interest. Ricardo Silverburn, children's author.

The Witch and Other Stories edition by Anton Chekhov Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Chekhov at this best. Grandmaster of short stories, he is unsurpassable when coming to reveal the Russian soul - servile, simple, illiterate creatures, afraid of all who stand above them.
In particular check out Gusev and In the Ravine
No one can match the elements of Chekovs writing....the simplicity with which he describes anything. He was true to his soul.
great writer
what could be bad about Chekhov?
Wonderful collection and formatted well for the .
I'm a big Checkov fan and it's always wonderful to get more of his short stories. As there is no information about this given, there are 15 stories in this collection and they have been converted perfectly. I haven't found any errors yet. It's just a shame the contents page is not active.
If you don't know of Checkov, his stories are always full of interesting and sometimes eccentric characters. The stories are always entertaining and often leave you having to read between the lines to work out wht he wanted to relate.
As this is free, of course it's highly recommended, as is anything by Checkov.
